Rachel+Luis | Washington D.C.

Rachel and Luis are definitely locals when it comes to Washington DC.  Rachel works at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum while Luis works for the Park Service.  So, having their engagement pictures done in and throughout the monuments would make a lot of sense!

We met on Constitution Ave in front of the White House and made our way down the National Mall towards the Lincoln Memorial where we finished up taking pictures.  Luckily the weather cooperated and the clouds parted just in time for our photo session.  Have a look at some of the photos and feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of this post.  Thanks!:)

I love all of these pictures but my favorite is when he’s dipping her and the Washington Monument is blurry in the background. Absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks Kristen! Haha yeah, I liked those shots a lot too. We got so lucky ’cause the angle of the sun at that exact time of day was able to shine in through the columns and illuminate them so they could be as bright as the background with the Washington Monument… otherwise they would have just looked like silhouettes!

Brittany+Max | Reston, VA

Brittany and Max are a cute and quaint couple from Culpeper, Virginia who have just recently moved to the Northern Virginia area for shorter commutes to and from work.  Since their upcoming September wedding will be back down in Culpeper on a farm, they wanted to make sure their engagement photos had a contrasting look.  So, the Reston Town Center served as a nice blend of urban appeal and natural feeling.

This shooting location was pleasantly surprising and extremely fun/versatile to use!  Take a gander through some of the photos we were able to get that day, and feel free to leave me some feedback in the comments section below. Thanks!:)

Visiting Paradise | Vero Beach, Florida

Here’s some photos and a little video I put together (at bottom of this entry) from several miscellaneous shots I filmed in between snapping the photos throughout our weekend visit to Vero Beach, where my wife’s family lives.  It was a refreshing trip away from the hustle & bustle of the DC area with little-to-no traffic the entire time we were down there.

I actually shot all of these clips with my 5D Mark II completely handheld with no stabilization rigs or IS lenses…  but Final Cut Pro X saves the day with a fancy new Stabilizer feature that actually works well.

It was a wonderful weekend full of relaxation and rejuvenation…  not to mention all the fun in the sun!

Thanks for watching and reading.  I hope to see some of your feedback in the comments section below!:)

A Springtime Wedding | Woodbridge, VA

Lynsey and Tyler are fun couple:).  I did their engagement pictures last fall, and really enjoyed photographing them.  Lynsey has such great enthusiasm for good photography, and it compels me to work hard at delivering photos that she’ll love!

I did not stay for the reception at this wedding, so have a look at the photos from Lynsey and Tyler’s gorgeous early Spring wedding!  Leave your comments at the bottom of this post if you’d like…  I always love to hear your feedback!

love, love, LOVE the one of the bride, alone, looking down and smiling after the dress went on and the ones of the bride and groom in front of the old wooden doors! gorgeous wedding and photography all around!

Chad Ainsworth - April 2, 2012 - 7:30 pm

Thanks! Haha yeah Lynsey’s favorite was the one with her looking down at her dress too :)

David+Lauren | Reston, VA

David and Lauren are definitely a cute couple.  Their love for each other became quite evident during our engagement photo session out in Reston, Virginia.  Spring was just beginning to come out, so the smell of fresh green grass started to finally return and even a few gnats managed to pester me while I was photographing David and Lauren (a bitter sweet thing lol).

All in all, this photo session proved to be a fantastic way to kick off the warm weather photo season of 2012.  Thanks David and Lauren for a great shoot!  Comments can be left at the bottom of this post.:)
